House Rules
Please note that we do not accept bookings from guests with a rating under 4.5, or who have reviews stating that they had issues complying with cleanliness or check-out times.
We always hope to have amicable relations with our guests and do not wish to have to charge anyone fees. We have hosted for many years, but have unfortunately met with some unreasonable guests. The following fees will be charged for violations:
Dishes – $35
As per our house rules, dishes are to be done by the guest themselves, and the fee incurred would be to compensate for fees from the cleaning company, as well as their overtime and wait time for the dishwasher.
Kitchen - $100 + any compensation needed for future guest
As per our house rules, the kitchen should be returned to its original state. Cleaners should need only disinfect and wipe down counters and mop the floors. This charge is for excessive cleaning needs remaining after a guest leaves, and includes but is not limited to: sauces caked onto the stovetop, stained countertop, exploded microwaves, crusted over the fridge, etc. The fee incurred would compensate for cleaners’ over time and/or purchase of replacement items.
Smoking - $400 + any compensation needed for future guest
As per our house rules, this is a no-smoking unit. Should the cleaners detect the odor of smoking materials including, but not limited to, tobacco, marijuana, drugs, etc., you will be charged a smoking fee. The fee incurred would be to pay for the air scrubbing services to remove the smell, and any compensation that we may have to give the next guest should the smells remain.
Trashing of the entire place - $350
As per our house rules, your items and trash must be removed from our unit at checkout. This charge is for excessive trash left in the unit outside of the trashcan after your checkout. The fee incurred would be to compensate for the cleaner’s overtime and any extra fees they charge for excessive cleaning.
Intentional damage to bedding - $35
As per our house rules, you should respect the unit as your own home. That extends to items such as our bedding. We understand accidents happen. However, intentional damage including, but not excluding utilizing bedsheets to clean your shoes, tearing up the bedding for an art and craft project, or using the bedsheets as kindling for an illegal bonfire, etc. will be charged. The incurred fee covers the purchase of new bedding.
Stolen/broken items – Market price + any compensations needed for future guest
As per our house rules, you should respect the unit as your own home. That extends to items within the unit. We understand that accidents happen. However, stolen items or items broken intentionally will not be tolerated. We will be charging market price, plus whatever compensation we may need to give a future guest for not having the item readily available for their use.
**Please note that all of these fees are in addition to the regular cleaning fee that was collected at booking. Variances to charges are made at the hosts’ discretion based on the intentionality of guest behavior and the extent of chargesNo smokingNo petsNo parties or eventsCheck-in is anytime after 4:00 PM
